Pricing for PP

If a potential PP occurs prior to the 15th ( this has been discussed) is it not in the interest of the entity who takes the PP to have a lower share price thus they will obtain more shares ? Just to be a devils advocate here is it just a coincidence that the SP gets hit this week ? Just a thought that I'm sure will garner a lot of comments. Just thinking out loud so please be kind.
