Good help is hard to find indeed! Well, I doubt very much POET Management is in need of any "Smart Creative Moments" at this point in time. I would hold off on that email to Chris Chu and Apple. Something in the back of mind tells me Apples' got things covered Bro, being one of the biggest companies on the planet. I would hate to see your buddy dangerously stretch his mind to the limits with constructive criticism on this idea. Don't let this advice discourage you though, "ideas can come from anywhere" as in the slideshare courtesy of "How Google Works". I took the liberty to adjust the slide from a realists' perspective on our current situation.
