Good find jales4. But this is about the cost of producing the crystals for the wafers. It's well known that GaAs is more expensive to produce. But I believe this is more than made up for in the inherent cost savings of using the poet platform. Didn't the CIC video cover the cost of the masks sets of a GaAs wafer compared to Si, and the saving was massive? Perhaps FJ can elaborate?
