Its always interested me how large corpoarations make and base their strategic decisions, not on people, but on profits. Obviously here, it is a survival move as many hardware makers have failed to keep pace with developments in a timely manner. Poor management choices, bloated layers of management, overhiring, bad market and technology assessment strategies, and sheer stupidity all have a long term effect. I am sorry for the those losing their livelyhood, but they are not alone, it happens everyday. Its happened to me as well. The other issue I see here, Tyler Durden and his specific colour of journalism. Thats whole credibility thing.
