Ark88: VCSEL is what gives POET the upto 90% power savings and upto 10x speed potentials.

Hm, the VCSEL is an optical element. However, when talking about performance gains and power savings, this is always in comparison to Silicon CMOS, which is all electronics and comes without optics.

I am not sure what to compare the VCSEL to, if at all. Any takers?
