Reading the current debate may I suggest a useful word for the difficulties encountered.

The difficulty that a false statement can be attributed to a statement uttered by a poster in the full belief they feel that they are right, or that it is their honest opinion.

The word FAKE is entirely different in that a fake statement is made in the full knoledge that the statement is wrong or untrue, i.e. a deception!

Our task here is to both point out that a statement is false but tollerate its utterance. Whereas a fake post must never be tolerated and the poster banned.
