With all due respect,70 years ago a build up of personnel and equipment in anticipation of engaging one of the most advanced, well trained, equipped and dug in military forces, can not be paralleled to waiting for a news release about a new technology. Many were told they were going to die to wipe out tyranny. Many did. The losses were tragic. The battles hard fought. I appreciate your military background sulasailor but the example you give regarding anticipation is in my humble opinion nothing compared to what they felt back then.
