Why are you not using stop losses? If you aren't glued to your monitor, you need a safety on a portion of your investment -- otherwise you can join the ranks of bagholders on any stock that's trading on powerpoint/IP that isn't quite proven yet.
In my less risky investments I don't bother, but when I'm going on the road on the other side of the globe on a business trip I don't have time to watch it. Overall it worked out well for me, if it had crashed right out I still had a large portion that sold (and conversely as it rose back up I sold more to average the rebuy).
I guess buying some shares and walking away blindly covering my ears isn't my thing; to each their own.
