The main forum is NOT for posts about other posters, their posts, your lunch/dinner, your neighbour, your neighbour's wife, or that person on the Internet who is wrong that will make you late for dinner.
Or any of the other soap-opera antics that have been clogging up the arteries of the main board lately.
If that stuff belongs anywhere, the OFF TOPIC FORUM is the place for it.
Ditto for questions to one member, WHICH BELONG IN A PM.
Example, the 'where are you Rob' post. How about you ask Rob (in a PM fer chrissakes).
So.
I'm tempted to take the following approach, and will do so if this gets more than ten recommendations before the end of the week.
It is an approach that takes a hard line with regards to Agora rules #2 and #3, and to an extent, the latter part of rule #5.
0. Regular user violation reports will continue to be processed, as they are currently.
1. Any post in the main forum that hasn't got CLEAR RELEVANCE TO PTK gets tagged for deletion. Want to whine about something irrelevant? do it in the OT forum. Want to whine about the SP? Don't whine over and over and over again.
2. One of the three mods may delete it if he agrees. This is the only action available (unfortunately, we can't relocate a post to the OT forum).
3. To keep a sense of fairness, a mod will not delete a post he himself has tagged (one of the others has to do it). This means a concensus of at least two mods have made the call.
