I think "sentiment" is redundant. Your posts clearly suggest your belief that the former two "defacto" indicators are a manefestation of market sentiment. This reinforces my belief that POET could be selling rubber dongs for all you care.
I do agree with you and others that POET likely needs to sign a deal for the SP to reflect POET's worth, but probably for different reasons. For instance, I don't think anything has happened recently that is forcing POET to accelerate their R&D, as Aves and Sol have suggested. In other words, I fail to see the urgency.
I just think the lazier investors that usually piggyback on the DD of others would like to see POET validated by Intel, BAE, Apple, etc. before investing.
