04:46 PM EDT, 08/28/2017 (MT Newswires) -- Osisko Mining (OSK.TO) said on market close Monday that it is increasing the scale of its ongoing drill program at its Windfall Lake gold project in Urban Township, Abitibi, Quebec, with plans to add 400,000 meters to the current program for a new total of 800,000 meters.
The current drill program of 400,000 meters will be completed within two months, with the expanded work program to continue to focus on infill drilling of existing mineralized zones and exploring the new discoveries and extensions in the immediate area of the project's Windfall and Lynx deposits.
Osisko, which commenced work at Windfall 22 months ago, continues to move towards an initial resource estimate for the Windfall project. The initial estimate will be based on the pre-existing database and analyses of the initial 400,000 meters of drilling.
Osisko shares closed on Monday at $4.65 for a 2.4% gain after touching an intra-day high of $4.77 in the morning.
