Besides, if the Kasabonika's RFP is still active (no way to know) then why would they choose to connect themselves to another First Nation by an all-season road if they too will end up staying remote. Unless.... There is some major advantage to doing so. If not, why bother with the RFP.
IMO: I just think Nibinamik has been told to stay quiet until other matters of business with both Webequie and Marten Falls are taken care of first. This seems to follow with the so called phases that Chief Yellowhead mentioned in the article; https://www.tbnewswatch.com/local-news/first-nations-dispute-ring-of-fire-road-agreement-703650. I have a suspicion that jurisdictional boundaries and power struggles are still taking place within Matawa that have yet to be resolved. Any alliance between neighbouring communities is probably not being viewed by the others in the best of light, and tensions within Matawa are probably still quite high. Eventhough, they do not want to admit it. But in the their news reports they sure do ellude to it.
The problems are not with progress; IMO. But, instead, with future profits.
