Everyone these days goes for what ever they can get.....call it business.  Look at real estate.  Who didn't try to go for the absolute max on a house they sold (during the mad craze which is now backing off), knowing that they took a way inflated payment for a house that will be worth a lot less when the bubble pops?  Our whole world is just doing "business" with everyone including Joe average who's doing your shingles, going for as much as he can get... as fast as he can go... to move on to the next pay cheque.....having forgotton to put on the membrane on the eves in the mad race.  No worries...the rot won't show up for 10 years.... on the 20 year shingles.

A doc. was done on the level of happiness people experienced in the 60's compared to now and if it had increased in the 2000's with all of the things and high paying jobs we have today.  Answer was "no" and there appeared to be greater contentment and honest effort back in the 60's with men being happy having a job and wanting to do good work.  I'd say we've traded a healthy philosophy for more money and things.  It's an old story isn't it?  So here we sit pointing fingers at others who want more and according to us have no right to it.  But that's the biggest lesson we've taught those that have followed us in this society.....take what you can get.  It's just good business right?  Howz that song go "Teach Your Children Well"?  Todays "business" people have learned well from the teachings of our society.
