Industrial Revolution, Tech Revolution......... now communications revolution. Our PM's, exotic metals and garden variety metals all made our present tech/com revolution possible. It's made a lot of people a lot of money......and now comes the cost......to our social structure. The thinking was that it would bring people closer together, increase communication....make all things possible. Well, it's done some of that, but the double edged sword also finds that it has isolated people, reduced people's ability to function in a real social situation, unleased some of the personas and behaviours people exhibit on line into the real world no holds barred, decreased attention span, increased impatience, decreased autonomy and privacy......and I could go on for a chapters worth. When is the last time you saw someone walking down the street with their head up and thumbs inactive? We have placed our lives in other hands with an ever narrowing noose around the neck of how we are expected to interact with the general world, submitt tax forms, transact finances...... no checks please, no cash please. Lest we forget????? Too late.....too many already have. We're already too far down the path. We now have to watch it play out....problem is, like it or not, we're also in the game.
