Northern Development and Mines Minister Michael Gravelle says he's pleased to see Noront Resources take a positive step forward in the Ring of Fire.
The Ontario government has approved, with amendments, the Terms of Reference for the Environmental Assessment of Noront's proposed Eagle Nest Nickle mine.
Gravelle says the amended environmental assessment strikes the right balance between protecting the environment and resource development.
He adds the public and aboriginal communities are encouraged to get involved in the assessment process by participating in meetings and forums, now taking place
