As I was saying earlier, too many here were, and perhaps still are, blaming Ontario government for the delays. But that may not be appropriate.
( I blame both governments and natives for not reaching consensus in reasonable time.)
No permits issued without native consent.
And why no consent? Because the offer on the table is not sufficient compared to what they want. Just think about it, they consider themselves owners of the land, lock, stock & barrel.
I think they would most readily consent if the offer consisted of half the value comming out of the ground went into their pockets. Probably before that value was taxed because they for the most part are tax exempt?.
IF that were so how many of you here would still be invested in Noront or any other company of the Ring.
I very likely would not. (Definitely with regard to chromite.)
