Scarff,
"After their performance in NB re the fracking protest's, I respect them even less. Their main goal in life is, 'how much can we get out of the Fed'. They are not shy in saying there only interest is maintaining there welfare status and making sure the checks keep rolling in. The y don't want an industry on their doorstep which provides jobs. That would destroy their arguments for keeping them on welfare. They are not interested in jobs, just welfare checks so they can sit on their butts all day and pretend they have a culture."
Your paragraph above insinuates that FN in NB and the FN in the Ring of Fire are of like mind.
To call it what it is, it is an outright generalization.
Why would you think that two communities thousands of miles apart have a similar goal to "collect from the Fed"?
I personally seen no evidence to show that the FN in the Ring of Fire want anything else than the certainty that they will benefit.
I have a first hand experience hearing Sonny Gagnon speak at the AGM and he is pro-development and not looking for a handout.
Maybe you should look at the many examples of the FN communities around Canada that have involvement in the Mining Sector. The Mining Sector is the largest employer of First Nation people and there are no handout's given. They like other Canadian go to work and provide value to the projects that they work on.
I rarely chime in on this topic but your connection to the Ring of Fire here is not accurate as there are far more instances where FN support mining than oppose it.
