Spoke to Wes at the 2012 PDAC - told him I couldn't believe that Noront didn't include the chromite in the FS. Under my scenario we mine the chromite first to generate $ and to provide empty stopes for the mill tailings. We would need an export licence to ship the mined chromite to China - say for 10 years to ensure we get the permit. - after that we process the chromite in Canada. This plan would avoid the heavy mine development including the mining of the waste stopes that is too rich for our blood.

I was floored by Wes' answer - he didn't think the chromite could be mined for a profit!! Perhaps the chromite Scoping Study that Noront initiated has showed him otherwise and he was drawing flac for his grand scheme.
