This is an interesting tid bit:

The Kidd Mine is the deepest base metal mine in the world with a shaft bottom at 9,800 feet.

Coun. Mike Doody asked if it was possible to extend the life of the mine any further by simply digging deeper.

Semadeni explained that the ore grade tends to decline the deeper into the ground that you go.

We have traced Eagle's nest to 1600 meters or 5000 feet approx. Wonder how much deeper we could mine but seems we could still double our depth based on the Kidd mine. I think our current RE is based to a depth of 1000m only but if someone has better info, I welcome being corrected here.

G.
