Good rainy morning my friends: Definitely coffee or Tea time.

Some times I get a bit disenchanted with the historical sites thingie etc.

I doubt that any city, or even town, including the present active Indian sites aren't built over succeeding historical sites.

I Agree, knowledge is important, but eventually living people must take precedent over the few sites that existed for a few weeks here or there in the past.

If these sites are soo important to the present, active Native populations, now living in or on the vicinity why haven't "THEY" taken steps to preserve their ancestors tempotary campng sites Themselves ? I have found that many simply regard them as garbage dumps and continue to dump more there.

Do I smell the distinct odor of money or power?

Recently I retraced one of my early exploration camping sites for pictures for the 'book', only to find a Indian was posted there to guard it against disturbance until a team of Archaeologists could examine it ???

Sheehs can you imagine, one of 'my' sites being guarded? and that I could theoretically be arrested for camping on the same area, or molesting the site? How rediculous we have become.

All that they had to do was to simply ask me how I found the virgin jungle in that area, and what I did there - I was camped there with my partner doing a preliminary exmination of a small, lonely Mayan pyramid in the 50's, which we found and had duly reported to the Mexican Govt Archaeological dept - . but such is the state of our society today.

Frankly, I wonder if there is a single sq meter of land in this ole world that hasn't had some significant event happen there. In the millions of years that man has been on this ole planet, it has changed so radically over time from paradises to barren uninhabitable deserts today, and vice versa.

There comes a time when the living population must take precedent over the past.

For those forming knots in their ropes, may I remind you that I have a bit of early American blood also, Mohican.

As for you Mohican warlords relax, it was an extremely cold winter and they say that she was damn cute besides..
