With the quote from treaty 9 you all must realize by now that the natives do not own the land. So enough on that thread.
Next, Some of the tribes want compensation for loss of some land ( and I mean a trifle compared to what they have) that they have a right to hunt in.
Fine I say, compensate them, BUT subtract from that what they gain in terms of benefits from infrastructure such as all year roads, electricity and cheaper food.
Net result would be that the natives would gain more than lose.
So my conclusion is = Quit complaining and support the development with all speed.
They want their cake and eat it too, while we pay for it.
