as you mentioned, it is such a small figure and why would they simply want that little amount. i do admit the other erroneous sum was intriguing.

so, because it's lousy outside which gives more time to think, wouldn't it be interesting if this small amount were for someone up north, maybe as a favour to an individual or an individual representing a community for past and future favours.

yup, it's a small amount but NOT would be in a no-win situation if they had said 'no'.
