Probably looking at an old map, where CN had a mainline between Longlac and Thunder Bay. They abandoned this line and picked up the rail this past summer.

If this line was still in place it would have been the shortest at 230 miles.

There was some discussion (on these boards--FWR--SPQ--NOT cannot remember) about Cliffs purchasing this line about 2 years. I tried to get some info (internally) regarding this rumour and was unsuccessful.

When this line was picked up this summer, my thoughts were, this was the end of Thunder Bay as a smelter site. Due to the cost of transporting the ore.
