Two random thoughts...

1. I don't know why anyone is really surprised about this 4-1 merger thing. Wasn't it announced/written in black and white months ago that NOT was looking into M & A in the ROF?

2. Recently on a plant tour here in the US I was going through a company's quality control lab and lo and behold on one of the lab benches there was an XRF analyzer gun. So I asked the guy giving the tour about it and he stopped and showed how it worked, shooting it up to the barstock of steel and up popping on the the little screen the various percentages of different metal elements. They use it to verify barstock coming in is actually what it is supposed to be, Hastelloy-C, Alloy 276, etc. We talked for awhile about it how mining companies are using them with drill cores, etc. It was just neat to see it in action after having read about it here.
