Cliffs style is to not take control of a company but instead take a minority position which results in them being the operator of the mine for a management fee.

At the Sherman Mine in Temagami, Ontario Cliifs owned 10% and Dofasco 90%. Cliffs were the operator and were paid a management fee.

Cliffs are a minority owner and operator of the Wabush mine.

Similar situation prevails in their Michigan operations.
