Herb, thank you for shareing your call with R.N. I'm not surprised he has been cold shouldered out by this board. He has an honourary title and should be shown some respect. That said the first two points you make are big in my opinion. The second is tops big time. He has not sold one share. If anyone should know when to hold and when to fold, it would be R.N. He isn't hanging on for peanuts. As far as what you should have done, that isn't worth thinking about. It's hindsight and isn't worth stewing about. Show me one person who made money with hindsight. We may learn something, but nobody ever made a dime trading after he knew what a stock did. I don't want anybody taking this out of context. We do hear of some who make good trades in and out. I tip my hat to them. However, if we could see " ALL " their trading slips it probably would tell us a different story. Over the years there is a long list of smart, well respected, advisors who got it right on occasion, but were wrong most of the time. So, unless I can see the total record, I don't think you can trade in and out too well. It's my opinion based on my own DD. Others may differ.
