Ottowa and the OSC have been trying for some time to have a central regulatory system put in place and B.C and Alberta and others have been against doing this. It may be that they are bringing this to the forfront in an attempt to have this go forward. I'm not sure this woudl make anything any better, worse possibley. OSC would have more control.
