Good afternoon all,

At the FWR AGM last week, I was given a copy of "Webequie Man". It is written in verse about Noront and area. Talk about being in at the beginning of a project !!

I contacted and received a reply from the author, Max Juby. He has been in mining exploration for many years in geophysics and the last 2 years in Airborne magnetics and radioactivity in Northern Quebec and Ontario.

I found this book - 42 pages - interesting and will post a couple of verses that may give you an idea of what this book is about. (with the author's permission).

First verse .................Webequie will work its way

into Mining Folklore;

way west of James Bay.

who heard of it before?

..................But then he grew anxious,

what about the boxes of core?

He'd have to get back

and keep track of that ore.

...................Christened the "Ring of Fire,

the formations of the earth;

it was this circular thing,

just what was it worth?

Webequie Man worked for Noront .

Later we will be hearing about another book "The Bigger Score" ?

but right now this is from someone who was with Noront at the beginning.

For those interested , e-mail for the author is:
