Believe me when I say I do understand that we all want postive price movement with out NOT stock price. Let's remember there is only one explanation (not including stock manupulation for which we have very limited control) for why a stock moves up or down when you consider for a transaction to occur there is a buyer and a seller. So what is the underlying cause of SP direction? As simple as this sounds this is it:
1. If a stock is moving up in price, the the buyers are agressively buying the stock more then the seller are selling the stock.
2. If a stock is moving down in price, the the sellers are agressively selling the stock more then the buyers are buying the stock.
In either case, there are reasons for the behavior of the stock price and if you are long NOT and want positive price action, then for reason 1 to occur above the buyers needs to be in control. Whenever news comes out that is positive the buyers agressively buy the stock moving it up or in advance of the news. Sometimes "sell the news" takes place afterwards as it was priced in and the sellers overtake the buyers pushing the SP lower; reason 2.
Above I did mention above there is stock manipulation that occurs and while SP movement still evolves around the criteria above one must be very aware of the MM who on low volume days can play around with the SP buying and selling to themselves to buy on the cheap. This is especially evident if they want a great potential play, as in NOT, to accumulate shares at the expense of those who do not have the stomach to ride volitility. They know it and do not care about you in the slightest and will hurt you bad if given the chance.
In the end I strongly view NOT as an extreme potential for one of those life changing plays that if delivered as planned will change our future outout dramatically. In the meantime we do have games played with pricing etc designed to shake out those who cannot handle the volitility. Beleave me I do understand how difficult it is to ride the roller coaster. You are not alone.
However, I am comforted and I remind myself everyday of the words spoken directly to me from Richard Nemis, which is, "not one share has ever been sold by anyone in side the company" (Noront) and if that does NOT say volumes to you then perhaps one needs to re-evaluate ones position. As always make sure you do you own DD and seek advice from your financial advisor for assistance.
