"What's your background, gcduck?"
I'm advising high tech companies in strategies, sales and communications for more than twenty years here in Germany and I will tell you what I have told all of them (whenever it was necessary):
Don't start with sales and marketing before your product is ready to be sold.
Exactly these were the words I told Ron two or three years ago (it was after Markman Hearing), when he demanded PTSC should do more PR in order to attract "heavy investors".
As long as the patents (= our products) are/were under scrutiny by the USPTO they are not "ready" to be sold (though they stay valid but we have seen what the market defines as valid...), therefore the real value of the patents can't be realized.
THAT'S the main reason I see all this BoD bashing as complete nonsense and incompetence.
Regarding the pump & dump scheme in 2006/2007 I have a different view:
IMHO the BoD was in the hands of Eric Swartz to get rid of him but he dictated the conditions and Pohl obeyed (paid niceley for this) - the question is:
Was there an alternative to this pump & dump? Would the BoD have been able to enforce it?
I don't know but what I know now is:
In the current situation I prefer Felcyn and Johnson as those who know PTSC since a decade (which includes all the bad and good decisions) over one person who has no heritage and know-how of all the things which happened inside and outside (with TPL etc.) the company in the last ten or more years.
