The candidate standard includes an IP-based transport, allowing users an interactive mobile TV option. I would speculate that real-time encoding would remain a requirement in the implementation of this transport, toward which Avot could be a candidate solution. The question is, "How is Avot positioned for accommodating the interactive feedback within their technology?" I'll have to look closer at that question when I have more time.
"The standard, which spells out the technical capabilities needed for broadcasters to provide new mobile and handheld device services through their DTV transmissions, includes a robust transmission system based on vestigial sideband (VSB) modulation. It also includes a flexible, extensible IP-based transport, MPEG AVC (H.264) video and HE AAC v2 audio (ISO/IEC 14496-3) coding."
