While I agree with the premise that all posts should be assumed to be speculative (an opinion), IMO, it does add value. Some here (and elsewhere) have a tendency to speak in "absolutes", suggesting some greater knowledge that simply does not exist. When a proposition (speculation) is stated, it should be made clear that it is an opinion (open to discussion/debate). Otherwise, how does a reader differentiate between issues that have been clarified/resolved, and issues/thoughts that are just being "thrown out there"?
If the sticker on the windsheild says "this car gets 40 MPG" with no caveats, how many people take that as truth? Ask all those involved in the class action suit re: those early hybrids that came no where close to meeting expectations.
