If one really wants to see the difference on how a ptanr hlder like ..BOEING gets treated and how someone like PTSC gets treated at the PTO...just tread the second page of the examiners interview summary on 4/10/08.
Not only does the examiner try to assist the patent rights holder (Boeing) in getting this thing through the rejection process...he even bold face types it in his summary letter and underlines it to basically show the patent holder the way to get this thing accomplished and issued. All this via a phone conference.
What did we get in a face to face meeting on the 148...an instruction to go back and put into writing what we just conveyed to the examiner in person...no suggestion of how to word it or even a directive (suggestion) to how to get through the obviousness phase.
Anyone who doesn't think there is a little extra help from and to certain patent holders at the PTO is mistaken...sometimes the big-boys get some help...obviously.
But that's JMHO.
