Why is this troubling for you?, or viewed as a "red flag" by some?

While it is a significant event, and Pohl is owed some thanks for his contributions, such PR may have to be passed by TPL.  Also, IMO, it might be prudent to wait until confirmation of his replacement and announce both at the same time (as is commonly done). 

I see this as nothing to get excited about.
