I agree 100%.  TPL/Alliacense clearly want to avoid the stigma of being labeled a "Patent Troll".  A reasonable settlement showing a fair and equitable solution would indict the company is truly asserting itself as a legitimate licensing firm.  I don't think a billion dollar settlement is even remotely realistic.  IMO the goal here is for TPL and PTSC to establish themselves as relevant firms that plan on being around for the long term.  They will attempt to extract maximum value without appearing to be "trolls".  I think somewhere between $150 million and $300 is much more logical.  I understand there are formulas for calculating royalties etc., however, the past has proven they may not be part of TPL's overall strategy.  Tomorrow should be very interesting.
