I still believe this was a solid win for our side. Think of the words, and what's going on technologically. "Both increase and decrease" vs. "increase and decrease proporationally". The word "both" adds nothing to the meaning. The word "proportionally" is important, but somewhat unimportant at the same time. It's important, in that it kills the defendant's words "by the [exact] same amount". But, IMO, it's unimportant (to us), as these components have to act cooperatively (a word I made sure to include in my ignorant posts yesterday), because the ring oscillator is the primary clock that times the function of the CPU. They have to work in concert, or they won't work at all. But (to my thinking), they must "vary together" depending on system demands and environmental changes or they would only operate at one, static/fixed, low rate. This is the value of the '336 IMO. It permits the system to operate at maximum speed possible, as opposed to a fixed, lowest possible speed.

I fear my ignorance may be showing, but this is my opinion based on some degree of reason and nearly complete ignorance.
