You're hitting on some thoughts of mine - and probably everyone else's!
As for what comes next, it seems to me that we could file a motion for summary judgment on at least the '148 - where it appears we "won" in total. If I recall correctly, the filing doesn't have to be on everything, but can be piecemeal - by patent. More likely IMO is a TPL motion for summary judgment on the whole thing, and let Judge Ward break it down if he so chooses. But it does appear that we have a "lock" on the '148 at this phase, and that should be adequate justification for TPL to file a motion for summary judgment.
The "calming" thing I see is that, after this ruling, the worst possible scenario is that we go to trial. The fear of a big loss in the Markman and the J2.5/ARM filing a motion for summary judgment is GONE. Recognition of this fact (IMO) alone removes a ton of risk for PTSC as an investment.
Your dollars are within reason as far as average future settlement amounts IMO - even conservative. But remember we split those dollars with TPL.
As for PPS appreciation, next week should be quite telling (though S&L could slow things till the warrants are gone). But IMO your PPS WAG is very low (especially after getting hundreds of millions in fees). I'll hold off on running numbers.....but what is an appropriate P/E IF we get a big settlement out of the J2.5/ARM? Big money in the coffers and how much more to come? I'd bet it'd be a whole lot higher than the current P/E of 16. And that new higher P/E will be applied to what number? Yowza!
Don't want to count chickens, but I don't see any cracks in those nice warm eggs!
These things I think I KNOW!
