Some are making noise about how another late filing will affect the PPS. But suppose they file after the close today; timely (actual, a few seconds ahead)? I for one would be feeling a little silly.

Though unlikely, their complaining "in advance" and predicting that a significant drop in PPS is practically inevitable may be prompting sales by lurkers today. Self-fulfilling prophecy. It's one thing really that bugs me - respected Longs making predictions (with or without foundation) of an imminent drop in PPS. Assuming that there are a bunch of folks out there reading and lurking, but not posting (and IMO there are probably ten of 'em for each poster), these words by the knowledgeable may actually be having an impact. And these are folks that hold lots of shares (or why would expend the time monitoring?). I may be blowing this out of proportion, but I do dislike near term predictions based on unknowns or events that haven't even happened yet, as it does posture a self-fulfilling prophecy scenario. If there is strong, "tangible" evidence on which to base the prediction, that's one thing, but sans that, it's another.
