Gentlemen

See what happens when the markets crater as we wait and wait and wait for the hopefully inevitable surge that will confirm our portfolio positions? We tend to pontificate on matters that may or may not materialize. The arguments about mining in Mexico with the possible extreme aspect of nationalization versus the other valid point that mining provides jobs & exploration expertise to Mexico (which the lack thereof has clearly cost Pemex and the country of Mexico and the oil industry as we will see going forward) are a good point/counterpoint exercise. Just as in the US, where the new mining law discusses much more stringent royalty payments, any jurisdiction ---depending on the monetary needs---will take from profitable companies to redistribute to social programs---that is politics. No country is ultimately ultra safe. Not only do we have to worry about specific company data and strategy, but the jurisdiction that they are mining in (as for the person who suggested South Africa as a friendly mining area, please consider the fact that a safe culture does you nothing if you can't get the energy infrastructure to mine).

Its been fun reading the point/counterpoint and you all have raised valid points for all to consider when investing in Mexico. Currently, I still feel confident that Mexico is a good place for a mining culture.
