Neumeyer of First Majestic thinks that the geopolitical risk in 2012 is "ridiculous" and overblown. They need the Canadians there for jobs and exploration, and everyone knows it, including government officials at all levels.

In Ontario, the government recently placed a mining ban that includes GoldCorp's Red Lake mine, which is a huge cash cow for them. Apparently, Canada isn't totally safe either. Truly, there is no where safe to hide. Also, if you believe the talk amout the Amero and the North American Union, Canada and Mexico are there for resources and cheap labor respectively, while American armored divisions keep everyone in line. :)

Nothing is totally safe, but honestly, Mexico seems safer than the US...our Congress is clueless how important good mining laws are.
