I believe it is more the forum members disagreeing than the companies. A letter of understanding might not be the same as formal signed jv but is indeed legally enforceable. Just try to get out of an unconditional offer to purchase or sell a house.

They could be some wrangling going on but doubt it would ever end up in court. My feelingis it's a non issue.
