So, we can conclude that because it is injected subcutaneously, it will take longer to absorb and have a longer tail than Afrezza. I would think that taking longer to absorb is not as much of an issue as the longer tail. You can inject before you eat so that it peaks near the beginning of the meal, but there is nothing you can do about a longer tail. The only other thing, if it does not peak as quickly as Afrezza, it still may not be effective at turning off hepatic glucose production.
