In this morning Globe and Mail Mr. Scott Adams draws reference to Southern Arc Minerals(SA), Guildhall Minerals(GDM.H), Gleichen Resources(GRL), Northern Freegold Resources(NFR), Louvem Mines(LOV) and Coniagas Resources(CNY) in his Number Cruncher column. Basically, the mentioned stocks have made the best percentage gains from a much larger considered group from late last year.

First, Mr. Adams has done some good research to alert investors that read his column of some of the better Toronto Venture Exchange performers in the last months since the collapse of share values that took place in October of last year. Unfortunately, he didn't take it far enough in separating Louvem's accomplishments versus the others. Compared to the other mentioned companies, Louvem is in a class by itself.

In speaking of Southern Arc Minerals as the biggest gainer this year, SA's low point from which to gauge performance was from 5 cents. It's really not too difficult getting outstanding percentage increases from such low levels as that. It is much more difficult taking in those percentage gains from higher levels. While Southern advanced 800% from it 5 cents low to 40 cents, or 800%, LOV advanced from about 25 cents to $1.50, or 600%.

When looking closer at the gainers on Mr Adams' list it is quite apparent that Louvem, although in second place, has more credentials to offer than Southern Arc along with any of the others mentioned but this is getting away from Mr Adams' central presentation, the best percentage gainers.
