One of the companies I run deals a lot with scrap steel and right now we are having trouble getting scrap companies to take our metal scrap for FREE. Just 3 months ago, we were getting $100 per tonne. Half the scrap companies have shut their doors as their yards are full and they cannot find anyone to take their scrap inventory. Our main scrap hauler has said that if conditions don't improve in the next few weeks, they will have to start to charge a fee per tonne for them to come and take our scrap metal away. Just last Friday, they laid off half of their staff.

This economic slow-down is going to have major impacts.
