Message: Ferrochrome processing

Hello all

There seemed to be some mixing-up in the discussion wrt to ferochrome processing done by Xstrata. I have no problems with the info on XPS website which discussed the BT ore processing. But, it's always good to post a link so that others can verify the info (perhaps they would have something to add).

In my post, I only dealt with the 24 Jan 2012 NR from KWG for BD in an attempt to summarize my understand on the drilling activities at BD. The met drilling to get the bulk samples is relevant to our discussion wrt to ferrochrome processing using BD ore. How would the BD results compared to those for BT? Are BD samples are being run by XPS and the results are still on schedule?

XPS (or KWG) could have released a status report on the BD samples (have been received, being scheduled to put in the furnace at XPS, and when the results are expected to be available, etc?) so that the info posted on XPS website would not appear as if BT is the only ore available from the RoF that can be used to produce ferrochrome.

>>> Chaucey G, kindly post the XPS link for reference...and thanks for contacting XPS. Did they give you any info regarding the samples from BD, in addition to saying that XPS an independent outfit (and presumably, no preference would be given to CLF)? I have not checked this out, but anyone knows when the BT samples were sent to XPS compared to BD samples? Presumably, the BD samples were not sent to them earlier than BT?

TIA.
