Mark Butler was 100% correct and all the major shareholders of ECU and AUM are in favour of the merger deal. Gifts like this should be exploited for the huge upside they offer instead of scaring people into selling or inaction. The market is a complex place with many different agendas by many different players, don't let them influence your thinking if you think you are correct. I'm very confident where this merger will lead in the future and pay little attention to the day to day crap the shorts, hedgues, etc. are putting long shareholders through. I should note that CIBC has become the worst house in Canada for constant HFTrading crap and algorithym trading. If I did any business with them I would be closing my accounts and moving elsewhere, only when people take action will CIBC get the message.

I have bought more stock recently in both ECU and AUM as they are dirt cheap in my view.
