I have both Au and Ag in an IRA. When I first saw this report I checked with my IRA account provider. They recognize that there is an "appropved" list of forms for both gold and silver that has been around for years. They were not aware of any recent changes.

If this message is factual, it is likely that the IRA account provider allowed non-approved forms to be purchased and is now forced to correct the error/mistake/ploy.

As a note, my IRA provider used HSBC to store 1,000 oz silver bars and other forms of pm. The rumors of forced liquidation that would result from HSBC terminating this service were not evident in my account. The provider is paying to shift the metals to a different depositiory at no cost to account holders.
