The biggest problem that I have with these 'illunati' types, is that to get their message you pretty much have to subscribe to their newsletters. Now if I was aware of a world conspiracy that threatened to end our system of freedom, I would want to be more active to spread the word then just posting it to a tiny handfull of people that were paying me to read my comments. I would not be working hard to market my newsletter and make paper dollars if I truly believed that those dollars were about to become worthless. I would not be exposing a plan to dominate the world if I believed that it was coming and people like me would be the first to be rounded up if freedom was coming to an end.

I guess what I am saying is that there is enough smoke to suggest some kind of conspiracy is underway, but what I know of the government is that they are too incompetant to organize a 2-car parade, let alone plan a scheme for 20 years and keep it secret. There are lots of ways to connect the dots.

Government exists for the interests of government. The gravey train will run just fine on the assumption that all the crooks in power are working to stay in power and enrich themselves first. One does not need to construct a vast conspiracy of world domination to understand that fact. All of the working people that pay taxes and fund the government elite are already controlled and exploited. Just compare the pension entitlements with government workers to the rest of the people (if they even have a pension plan, many do not...). It is pretty easy to see who are the slaves and who are the elite.

I think the simplest answer is the most probable. The world has come to where it is due to stupidity and greed. This is not the first time we have arrived a financial crisis and it will not be the last. I think the trend is for smaller units of organization, and not towards one single world order. If a country like Canada has trouble staying united, how can one envision a world where all diverse peoples and cultures are ruled by one elite union of power?

I think the US will be dragged kicking and sceaming into an era of more responsible lifestyles. A handfull of people are going to do a lot of damage trying to avoid the inevitable. A lot of anger and restentment will come from the masses when they find out that they have been robbed of their legacy and face generations of lower standards of living. This happened in Germany a few decades ago, and Germany survived to become a stronger country. So too will the US...
