If the company waited until Thursday after the FOMC meeting, there would be only two trading days before the weekend, and the cutoff date for being booted from the TSX Venture falls on the Monday after.

A trading halt is not meant to be held indefinitely, so a week so far is practically unheard of. The shares are halted pending news, not that they've run afoul of the law. And there's no way that a strong public evaluation of the shares can occur off exchange.

So my suggestion would be to separate into tranches the large 'to-do' list of laying the cards on the table starting prior to the FOMC.

Poker is a hand of five cards, and we have five business days before the end if the fiscal year, though I have Netolitzky for a chess player, where all of the moves are anticipated many moves in advance. Sort of in the vein where the opponent believes he has check-mated the other, and declares check, but then is struck dumb by being check-mated.
