Bing Maps spring 2013 aerial photo provides a comparison. The initial open pit appears filled in, in the Here.com version. The data in Bing Maps is bound to change. Note that Bing Maps provides much higher resolution.

The Roy Lloyd mine is still in operation in the Here.com version, taken in Spring or early summer of 2014, except the open pit has moved northward.

The company is obviously lying about an operational shutdown.
